| 4×6 Mylar Bags – Pack Of 100 Clear bag Self-Stand-up with Aluminum Foil Back, 1/2 Pint Resealable Ziplock Bags and Heat Sealable for Food Storage

These 5×8 mylar bags have a clear front, aluminum-looking back and have a pleated bottom that allows the bag to stand up on it’s own. I use these bags for prepping my kitchen items for RV living – these take up much less space and weigh much, much less than what an equal capacity glass container would weigh – space and weight matter when loading up an RV.These are thick enough, although I would not write that they are super-sturdy, they will do. I did however, conduct a test to find out of they are indeed smell-proof – I put something smelly in the bag, made sure there was a lot of air inside, sealed it tightly and repeatedly ran my fingers over the zip closure until I was convinced it was completely sealed. Squeezed the bag gently and … I could smell the item I put in. I unsealed the bag and did everything again. Still, I could feel the air leakage from the actual zip closure. Repeated, same result.It’s not important enough to me to test more bags, but just be aware that these are probably NOT smell-proof or waterproof for that matter. Loss of a star for misrepresentation.Recommended, knowing they are probably not smell-proof or watertight.
